US Army Sniper School New Ghillie Suit PolicyOne daunting task of US Army Sniper School students of the past was making a sniper suit during the first part of the course. Due to changes in the course over the last couple of years IT IS NO LONGER REQUIRED to make a suit at the course. Instead students are expected to show up with a fully functioning suit on day one. Sniper School cadre when asked specifically by myself said that they do not care if it is one the student made themselves or if it is a pre-manufactured suit.
It's no secret that making a functional ghillie suit takes A LOT of hard work. Companies like Tactical Concealment MFG have been offered pre-manufactured suits for years to allow Snipers to use a quality product without all of the work. Unfortunately a full suit from Tactical Concealment could cost between $800-$1,000 or a little more depending on the variation and if you purchased it with or without a hat.
Today my company is proud to announce that The People including Army Sniper School students can purchase Tactical Concealment's latest pre-manufactured suit with the top and bottom already garnished so it is good to go right out of the box. Students can also purchase garnished hats as well.
While the Mamba costs around $800 on t he low end, ungarnished the newest version that they offer we sell for $770 (+ shipping or free pick-up at Fort Benning) for the top and bottom garnished and ready to go out of the box.For demonstration purposes we took pictures with half of the suit bare and half of the suit garnished so you could see it both ways. To garnish these we simply add a small bundle of dyed burlap to each side of every square of the suit.
The color of burlap 'jute' will vary to match depending on the color of the base of the suit. These suits are available in Multicam, A-TACS AU, A-TACS FG, and Coyote Brown in sizes Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and in Short, Regular, and Long lengths.
